Lisa Durston Event Intern Placement – 12 months

In memory of our colleague Lisa Durston, who was well respected for her client servicing excellence, sense of fun and creativity, we are recruiting for an Events Intern.

Location: Freshwater Cardiff office (Hodge House, St Marys Street, Cardiff)

Salary: Above the real Living Wage salary

Contract: 12 months initially, full time 37 hours per week

We are looking for recent graduate with a passion for events and to support the work of Freshwater’s events team to run conferences, exhibitions, product launches, VIP receptions and awards ceremonies, initially for a 12-month period.

You will be responsible for events administration activity including developing documents on Word, Excel and CRM to manage all the activities to deadlines internally and for clients, all related to the events management planning. Also, you will support in researching and booking venues, catering, artists, musicians, speakers and hosts for events.

As part of the role, you will have responsibility for working with the Events team to plan, organise logistics and to provide at event management support including overseeing onsite registration and liaison with suppliers and exhibitors. You will help in all administration needed to prepare for events such as schedules, name badges, marketing collateral and on-screen content.

You will work with our marketing team to promote upcoming events, and you will come onsite to events and assist with registration and general events duties.

The successful post holder will:

  • Educated to degree level or equivalent, ideally in event management, business administration or event marketing.
  • Have experience of working in events.
  • Possess sound knowledge of events and marketing administration.
  • Knowledge of events and marketing principles.
  • Working knowledge of social media, including Linked In, Instagram and other platforms.
  • Problem solving skills and ability to use initiative.
  • Able to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Ability to use initiative.
  • Ability to cultivate excellent relationships with colleagues, clients, suppliers and stakeholders.
  • Working knowledge of social media, including LinkedIn, Instagram and other platforms.

 

The candidate will, ideally, be a recent graduate with some experience of, and seeking to pursue a career in, Events Management, within an agency environment.
